Riders will be asked to go up an embankment no higher than the width of a barrel on its side.


  • May be executed at the Walk, Trot, Canter at different levels

How is it Judged?

  • Riders should release reins and allow horse full use of his head and neck
  • Riders are allowed to grab mane with no deduction
  • Penalties for “catching horse in the mouth” , loss of balance or getting left behind when horse moves through the obstacle.
  • English and Western riders should use 2-point position
  • Horse judged on calm, willingness and balance
  • Penalty for refusal, run out, backing
  • Penalty for stumbling
  • Western riders may hold on to the horn to protect their body
